Coventry Railway Station circa 1900 - 1920
This is a picture reproduced from a postcard I recently acquired. It is of a railway station forecourt, and the tram in the image suggests that the period is probably around 1900-1920 or thereabouts.
It obviously was a busy place in those days, but (just for fun) can anybody identify the location of this station?
Enjoy!

OK then Alan, can you identify this?
PS The bridge might give it away!

Ooh! Surely not Sandy Lane before they put a brick top to the bridge? I recall you once said there used to be a station in the vicinity, so that's my guess - Sandy Lane Bridge, Coventry.

It would be Daimler Halt. Built for the workers of the Daimler factory just out of frame on the left of the image, to get to and from connections at both Coventry and Nuneaton. Yes that's Sandy Lane road bridge in the back ground...
I've just found some pretty hellfire photos of the Nuneaton - Coventry - Leamington Spa line, on a website dedicated to Warwickshire railways of past... Include a few stations around Coventry which no longer exist, or there are remains of, but which aren't really too well known, unless you live near them, or you know the local area.

Re: Coventry Railway Station circa 1900 - 1920
One thing which is still visible, although not great for photos is the 1876 LNWR signal box, at Coundon Road, which until recently controlled the level crossing gates and signals. The signal box closed on 23 May 2009 as part of the Coventry - Nuneaton line resignalling project, which control of the level crossing and signalling passed to the West Midlands Signalling Centre, Birmingham.
Also remains of the station masters house were visible last time I passed by, a few years ago

Due to not being able to find recent photos of either of the two on the web.
I've taken some screenshots from Google street view.

I might as well...
Another place in Coventry where there used to be a station, which is now pretty much gone, although you can still just about see where the platforms are.. That is Foleshill station... (Situated just under Lockhurst Lane road bridge).
Then...
And a couple of years ago (2009).
